Kane Apparels emerged in the Sri Lanka Garment Industry on May 24, 1990 and incorporated as a Private Limited Liability Company with the vision of contributing a major share to the main foreign exchange earner in Sri Lanka. It started production on July 01, 1990 with a production capacity in terms of 40 machines and extending jobs to 60 workers. Its first export consignment was effected on May 15, 1991 from the mother factory located in Kotte, to renowned brand label of Gloria Vanderbilt Apparels in USA which has been second to none for various other leading labels
 
 

In order to keep up with the increased demand for its high quality product, within a short period of time, it was able to expand its production capacity by way of forming a branch factory at Mirijjawila, Hambanthota in July 2001.

Owing to high quality maintained, the demand was so great, Kane Apparels started its own washing plant at Waikkala in October 2007 so that the group would be in a position to fully facilitate any requirements put forward by garment buyers. This unit comprises of modern machinery & equipment capable of matching any wash standard associated with garment washing. In May 2009, at the same premises, Kane Apparels started another manufacturing unit with 125 machines catering for Kids wear garments for reputed label Marks & Spencer.

Its remarkable achievements have been due to the dedication of the highly experienced workforce, guided by the dedicated staff which is the proud possession of the company
